Limited Capacity seats available
This session describes the development and current status of AI4Hawaii, a growing community digital resource hub and workshops/PD initiative focused on building culturally grounded, bi-lingual (ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi and English) place-based approaches to AI education in Hawaiʻi. Participants will learn how educators, students, and community organizations are co-designing ʻāina-centered AI curriculum, tools, and learning experiences that reflect Hawaiian values, language, sustainability, and data sovereignty. The session will share lessons from hands-on workshops, curriculum co-creation efforts, and the development of open resources that help communities shape AI on their own terms—not simply adapt to it. Finally, the resources and tools will be described and shared for active exploration and sharing in breakout groups.
