In October 2025, there was a suggestion in the Education Week newspaper that Bloom's Taxonomy, a cornerstone of the ideas around teaching and learning, be updated to incorporate the emergence of AI. Oregon State University developed a series of suggestions of how Generative AI can supplement learning, providing examples for remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and create.

With the Bloom's Taxonomy Revisited table and work by Oregon State University in mind, this presentation will share an extended local effort that is centered around the five concepts of kuleana related to generative artificial intelligence--kuleana of the school, kuleana of the teacher, and kuleana of the student, and kuleana of developers, and kuleana of society.

Second, we will share preliminary findings from a dissertation about a recent study about AI and the teachers' intended use and perceived each of use of AI tools as an instructional tool.
