This session explores how everyday classroom tools can become powerful supports for students with dyslexia and other specific learning disabilities. We will highlight built-in accessibility features within Google Workspace that educators often have access to—but may not be fully leveraging. Examples include but not limited to Voice Typing in Google Docs for speech-to-text support, Read&Write and Chrome text-to-speech extensions, smart compose and predictive text tools, and Google Classroom and Docs commenting features that support feedback, collaboration, and organization—helping students build independence and confidence.
Participants will also discover innovative ways 3D printing is being used to support students with visual and physical impairments, including creating tactile graphics, manipulatives, and customized assistive tools that increase access and participation.
In addition, we will share practical, technology-driven strategies for engaging students in home hospital settings, ensuring continuity of instruction, connection to peers, and equitable access to learning despite physical absence from the classroom.
Attendees will leave with actionable ideas, real-world examples, and a deeper understanding of how to leverage both embedded and emerging technologies to remove barriers and create more inclusive learning environments for all students.
