About me
Josiah Hester is an Associate Professor at Georgia Institute of Technology and Executive Director of Ulu Lāhui Foundation. He develops sustainable, community-centered computing and AI, with work spanning resilient cyberinfrastructure, Indigenous-led technology design, and culturally grounded STEM/AI education. His projects focus on environmental stewardship, climate resilience, sovereign AI futures, and curricula co-designed with communities across Hawaiʻi and beyond. He is a recipient of the PECASE and Sloan Research Fellowship.
