About me
Kelsie Pualoa has served as the English Language Arts Test Development Specialist at the Hawai’i Department of Education since 2018. She leads the development and implementation of statewide assessments, ensuring compliance with federal policies and grant requirements. Kelsie specializes in building educator assessment literacy, cross-departmental collaboration, and implementing culturally responsive assessments, including the Kaiapuni Assessments for Educational Outcomes (KĀʻEO). Kelsie actively collaborates across our tri-level system and represents Hawaiʻi on multiple national advisory groups and committees for Smarter Balanced. A proud former ELA teacher, Kelsie holds both a Bachelor and Master of Arts in English from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
